Smart Home Products Popularity Amongst Millennials Grows

In a recent article – we reported on the female millennials propensity for smart home product adoption –> “US female homeowners under-35 over-indexed against all women for usage and interest in smart-home technology.”

Further reinforcing Millennials ‘love affair with anything tech,’ NPD’s recent Home Automation Advisory Service reported, “Millennials are twice as likely as the total population to have a smart home product installed in their residence.” While not surprising that these digital natives are quick to adopt smart home products like Nest, Comcast X1 Security, Amazon Echo, Philips Hue – the NPD report reminded us of one thing that can be overlooked – you don’t need to be a homeowner to integrate smart home. A great majority of these smart home products are portable and in-turn a good fit for adults of all ages and life-stages.
